Yucca Valley Church of the Nazarene started as a vision for the message of holiness to be brought to the Morongo Basin. Back in 1971 when the church was planted you had to travel pretty dangerous roads to get to another Church of the Nazarene in another community. The church was planted and quickly grew as a strong church bringing the hope of salvation and sanctification to the community around us. The church was known for its bus ministry and for its outstanding childrens and youth ministries.
Over the next 35 plus years the church has changed in many ways. Much like the community around it. The community has grown and adapted, The Morongo Basin now has more than 100,000 people living here and the Church of the Nazarene in Yucca Valley is there to minister.
This is what our building looked like back in 1973. From our humble beginnings we have made a lot of progress. The building may not look much different today, but what is happening inside most certainly is. This brief look at our past is to help you be excited about our future. The church is founded in the tradition of the Church of the Nazarene. Passionate about helping people know God completely by leading them to Christ through evangelism, and then to encourage the believer to experience wholeness in Christ; sanctification.
The mission of the Yucca Valley Church of the Nazarene is:
that through us, the world would know Christ.
Over the last 35 years we have made a few changes, including the updating of our sanctuary, the instruments we use to worship with and even how our building looks. Though the methods have been updated to reach out, our passion is still the same. Each week is a new adventure in our journey of faith. Each week we get to experience Christ in a brand new way. Each week we estabilish ancient traditions in our lives with lasting eternal values. But the best way to see what we are doing is to come experience Christ with us. Check out our different worship gatherings and come be a part of what we are doing here in Yucca Valley.
